Unchained gives regular trainings and presentations at houses of worship, universities, law firms, conferences and other venues about forced and child marriage in the U.S., as well as in-depth educational programs developed especially for domestic violence service providers, law enforcement agencies and judges.
The interactive presentations and trainings can include some or all of the following:
- A survivor’s personal account of her forced marriage;
- Discussion of how, when, where, why and to whom forced and child marriage happen in the U.S.;
- Discussion of the many devastating consequences of forced and child marriage and why they are considered human rights abuses, including how they overlap with other horrific abuses including human trafficking and sexual exploitation of children;
- Details about the crucial, often life-saving services Unchained provides to survivors and of the national movement Unchained leads to end child marriage in every U.S. state;
- Specific tips to help service providers identify and respond to cases of forced and child marriage; and
- Suggestions for how members of the public can help end forced and child marriage in the U.S.
